Amongst the Surrey Hills and Sussex Downs
One of several thrilling drives shared by the team at Caterham Gatwick. Leaving Caterham Gatwick, you will pass along several A roads, many of which form other drives elsewhere in the app including the A264 and A272. After crossing into West Sussex and away from the dual carriageways, this drive enters the South Downs National Park before reaching the historic town of Petworth with the famous National Trust property of the same name. After navigating a lap of the quaint and narrow streets, the A283 takes you north through some stunning rural villages of south east England before emerging in the Surrey town of Godalming. The high street is normally off limits for traffic during the week so the drive skirts the edges but it's worth stopping off for refreshments at one of the many cafes and eateries.
Beyond Godalming, you now enter the picturesque Surrey Hills where the roads rise up along the North Downs, twisting and then descending through small villages on the A25. Shere is a particular highlight, made famous as a filming location most recently for 'The Holiday' starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jude Law.
Arriving into Dorking, the epitome of a Surrey market town, the drive now heads south once again, passing close by to Leith Hill, the second highest point in south east England. Back roads will delight as you make your way to Gatwick once again and the end of this drive.
